Background Check?

Question:
Im trying to get a job with an insurance company. The job responsibilities will be processing auto insurance claims, They will be doing a background check. I have a clean criminal history, employment history and i dont even drive to have a driving record The only thing is I have 2 past due accounts on my credit report, will i still be offered the job? or will they withdraw their offer

Answer:
Yes, I think you will still be offered the job.

Most companies do background checks to check for felonies. Unfortunately due to frivolous lawsuits, they have to do this to protect themselves.

They wont care about 2 past due accounts on your credit reports. If they check your credit report, they are looking for numerous bankruptcies, etc.

You should be fine.
The credit cards won't show up on a background check...only on a credit check. A background check is to see if you have a criminal record. I know this because I had to get one and be finger printed when I started teaching. Good Luck with your new job!
Well, legally they can only factor in things that would be "job related." You're not responsible for paying bill or handling cash, so a bad credit report alone shouldn't stop you. That said, nothing stops an employer from withdrawing the offer anyway. If you know for certain they are doing a credit check, you're better off coming clean about it up-front. If a certain life event (divorce, illness, etc) resulted in the late payment, tell them. Plus, let them know what steps you are taking to fix it. This might clear the air. Good luck.
If they don't offer you a job based on your credit report, then they're not the right people to work for.

Anywhere I would apply to work in, I would be willing to consent to a background check, but would be upfront in telling them that I have less than a perfect credit report. Many employers are more likely to offer your the job because you're willing to be honest about something unflattering about yourself.
Who knows are they no pay or slow pay just few days late.
