No collision on auto policy. in accident..?

Question:
police report & street camera show my son was not at fault; however both cars are damaged. his had both airbags deployed, the front drivers side is crumpled up, lost fluids, etc. so what does he do now for compensation since he has no collision. does his insurance company represent him in any way(geico?), does he make a claim on his own to the "at-fault" drivers insurance company, or does he have to file a civil suit?

Answer:
My suggestion, get an attorney right from the "get go" here's why:
My wife worked as a claims manager for many years in the insurance industry. Their primary function is to "limit claims" any way they can! They have all kinds of tactics, many borderline legal-some companies even "step over" that line!
No Fault only applies to "INJURIES"! Everything else is determined by who's at fault.
You should file a timely claim with your insurance company as there are many governing policy terms and conditions that affect you getting coverage! At that point, you have supplied your carrier with all the information regarding the other driver to which the carrier can now identify anything and everything they need to!
They then inform the other carrier of a "claim" against them to which they will notify you. HERE'S THE CATCH::::::::: THIS IS WHERE YOUR ATTORNEY COMES INTO PLAY!!!!!
The oppossing carrier will attempt to get "statements" from you or have you fill out "forms" you are not required to submit for their benefit! Through an attorney, they will not be able to do so! If they call you directly, they are entitled to have an adjuster look at your vehicle and work with the body shop YOU choose! PERIOD! They are not entitled to "statements" regarding the accident or anything else! You only submit that to YOUR insurance company! DON"T LET THE OTHER CARRIER INTIMIDATE YOU AND DON"T MAKE ANY STATEMENTS!! If you do it may come back to haunt you!!! Refer all those questions to your attorney!
The other carrier will fix your vehicle as required under law and the terms of YOUR policy!
To be perfectly honest and to give a sound answer I believe legal advice is the only way for you to go. It is better to have the right advice right from the start so you get everything in motion and no surprises will pop up.
If he was not at fault, the other driver is responsible for repairing his car. The other driver is suppose to make a claim and your son should also contact his insurance company. Your son needs to also contact the other driver's insurance company if they do not contact you. If police report indicates he was not at fault, the other insurance company will probably settle with you without having to go to court.
The other person's insurance will cover it (been there). Since the police were on scene the police report will have their insurance company name and policy number. Make sure you contact them, and don't let them tell you that you have to go to a particular shop either.
you and your son need to contact the other party's insurance carrier and file a claim, that's all there is to it
