Bumper needs replacement no insurance. Can i a novice handle this job?
Question:
help i.e. web site or instructions would be great.
Answer:
it's easy to replace the bumper, but on most newer cars they have rubberized bumper covers that go on over a fiberglass reinforcement. if this reinforcement is broke you need to replace this also. you should be able to tell by the estimate you received. either way, the hardest part is finding all the bolts. this is also made easier by looking at the bolt holes on the new parts. my son who has no experience with cars replaced his hood, bumper cover, and reinforcement by himself. good luck, mark
What kind of car?
You have not said what year, make or model of vehicle you are talking about, so it's impossible to answer your question. If the body shop wants $2,200 and the part is only $240, it sounds like there is a LOT of labor involved. I'm more concerned about your "no insurance" statement. Do you mean your insurance won't cover this because you were at fault and don't have collision, or you have no insurance? If the latter, please get some.
If you'd like to add details as to what this bumper is going to be put on, I'm sure someone will be able to help.
