Cops in cincinnati?
Question:
Answer:
All police cars are insured, either self though the government
( which is your tax money) or though group policies.
So yes all departments have insurance on ther cars.
And officers are responding to many calls that they hurry for, without lights, so it is hard to say what they are doing.
And in larger cities, I know it was this way in Atlanta, they normally had 2 or 3 calls waiting when they finished one call,a nd they hurry on to the next call with a citizen in a hurry for them.
but if ur a citizen who is employed by the police force to tackle the speeding by the police officers would you not be grassing up your colleagues? And who would keep an eye on u??
I'm not sure about the insurance business..but im sure if they dnt have insurance it makes no different cos the force cannot prosecute itself! N who do u take to court? The WHOLE force? Anyhow the police force has a lot of money and can afford to pay damages!!
Oddly enough, we have no idea of what the police are doing while running lights. Could be they're on a call. Are there abuses? I'm sure of it. Is it an issue? Only to those with an axe to grind with the Police Department. Cincy's Police Department has been under the microscope for years now, and have passed investigations with flying colors, despite being sold-out by city council.
As for insurance...of course they have insurance. Probably not with Geico, but most likely self-insured. In today's sue or be sued climate, they have to cover themselves.
Police think they have that right and usually they just want to pass other cars. Then if they hurt someone for the fast useless driving, they get together and lie, and feel like they have been wronged. I feel that when a police officer is abusing their status such as speeding for no reason or cutting their sirens on , for no reason. They should be punished. This is easy to detect in a small town, maybe not a large city, but nothing is done. This can be changed though if you make it an issue and vote on a police chief that believe as we both do.
