How long a time does an auto insurance have to respond.?
Question:
Answer:
Did you say something during a telephone interview with the other insurance company to give them the impression that any part of the accident could have been your fault? Think carefully. Did you keep your answers short and yes/no only? Your attorney should be able to contact the other person's insurance compand at least verify that they do have a policy in force. Maybe they don't. It is very possible. Be thankful that you do have insurance and that your coverages enable you to get your medical bills paid and your car fixed. Lost income should also be provided by most insurance carriers - have you spoken to your claim team regarding this?
Make your lawyer initiate contact with them. I know that a lot of personal injury attornies like to wait until the statute of limitation is almost up before starting any kind of action against an insurance company so you will want to make sure an hound them to keep pushing forward with your case. This could drag on for years depending on your state's statute of limitations.
If you feel like your attorney doesn't have your best interests at heart - get a new one.
Good luck.
Sorry to hear about your accident , the other company will takes its merry time and drag it on till it appears in court , they will have to submit refunds to you and pay hospital bills car rental car repair and possibly pay you some sort of monies for your being out of work . your insurance company should help you get everything you deserve in way of compensation for your lost wages etc !
The time delay can be explained in two words: 'my lawyer'.
Expect this to take forever once a claim makes it way into the land of the legal dept.
PS - now that you are represented all communications must be made through him/her/it.
Good luck...
