What insurance companies have you had trouble with auto and home?

Question:

Answer:
Don't get American Family. I've heard a lot of bad things about them. Plus I know a guy who had his house burn down last March...had replacement cost coverage on the house, and they still haven't paid him the amount he had the house insured for. He has had to file a claim with the Insurance Commissioner.
All state is horrible. My dh and I are prior service so we are able to use USAA and I love them!
I have only had 2 car insurance companies, Farmers and State Farm. I never had troubles with either, but Farmers was charging me an astronomically high premium.
I changed to Erie Insurance for both auto and home insurance years ago, and they have been the best insurance company I've ever had. I recommend them highly for people who live on the East coast USA.
I have been an adjuster for several companies and can tell you this. Allstate and State Farm screw over their insureds constantly. I was always getting calls from State Farm Insureds' whose agents told them to call me to see if I would pay, even though they were at fault. The agents do this b/c they don't want to have losses on their loss runs b/c it hits their nice fat commission checks. Also, statefarm burns out adjusters pretty quickly, they hire people with no knowledge and no skills and pay them crap while giving them pendings in the hundreds. What that means to you is, good luck getting your claim paid.

I am a huge fan of USAA. But for those that can't get in there, the following companies handle claims ethically (for the most part, there are always exceptions for the random bad apple employee): CNA, Fireman's Fund, FCCI and most smaller regional companies.
my firm has recently had flood damage and their insurance was very supportive, I have always been with Norwich and happy but I am switching to these as they also seem cheaper http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1768315-1...
I have had trouble out of allstate.I have USAA currently and it is probably the best.USAA is a military insurance company. If you or your parents have served in the armed forces you should see if you qualify to join their company.
