How to become an auto insurance adjuster for insurance?
Question:
Answer:
check with the Department of insurance for your state to see what the requirements are. You will most likely need to take a class and then a state test.
Apply to insurance companies in your area. Adjusters are not usually licensed and all you might need is either a college degree or some experience with auto repairs.
The company will have in-house training programs for you to pass before they allow you out in the field.
i'm not sure where you live (the last answer) but everywhere i have lived adjusters ARE required to be licensed and do CE every year. check with the state you live in
If you live in CA, NV, or CO...my company is currently hiring auto adjusters for all 3 states and there are postings on monster.com right now.
With that said...each state has it's own requirements for adjusters, meaning some require a license and some don't. CA and NV do not, although the actual company itself might (which is usually an independent firms). Some states, like Texas and NY, require you to have a license and continue taking classes to maintain your license.
If you live in a state that requires a license, the company will let you know and they'll help you through the process.
Federal law prohibits insurance companies from hiring anyone convicted of a felony involving money. Be prepared for a thorough background check.
