What is involved in purchasing a home in NJ?

Question: I am relocating to NJ from CA. I am trying to find solid information about things like property taxes, if they use escrow or attorneys, How long do closing take if the loan is preapproved.

In CA houses are in escrow and all of the title checks and inspections take place then. How does NJ real estate law work? Are there any good online sites that showcase NJ houses with photos?
