Answer:
Dear Lisa:

Which Bank? And you applied on-line? And you sent them $500?
I'm sorry to say that it doesn't sound quite right. Please e-mail me: amkornele@yahoo.com. I'd need more info before I can even begin to help you.

It's a scam. The internet lenders are only out to make money and they will do it to their advantage. Make a complaint to the BBB in whatever city they are from. I will bet you are not the first, but you might have legal recourse. PLEASE DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BANK ACCT. NUMBER! They could empty anything you have. If by a miracle the money arrives, immediately change accounts. Good luck to you.
Honey, please tell me you didn't give them your bank account number...PLEASE tell me you didn't. Sounds to me like a scam, but I'd need more info
Beware of having to pay up front for any kind of loan, lottery winnings or anything like that. It is probably a scam, but you need to do more homework on this company such as where they are, any complaints about them etc. You should read the book "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey, it has some really good info about credit.
I hate to tell you this, but you might have been scammed. Was there any guarantee in writing that you'd actually get the loan? And even if there was, how would you enforce it? And where are they located? If they're honest, why wouldn't they have just deducted the $500 "insurance" from the $5000 loan, why would you have had to send them $500? Has the $5000 shown up yet in your bank account?

If it doesn't, and you have an address, you could report this to the police in their location. But if it's a scam, you probably won't see your $500 back, but might protect future victims.

Since they now have your bank account number, call your bank first thing Monday morning and tell them about this, ask them not to honor any withdrawal requests unless it can be verified the request is from you. That shouldn't stop any DEPOSITS if they should happen to make one. The bank people should know how to handle this.

Good luck.
You can't get out of debt by borrowing money.

Sending $500 to a company you've never heard of? That's stupid. You deserved what was coming to you.
