Question:
I am transfering for the fall of 2007 to a bachelors degree program. I have been to fastweb, collegeboard, and scholarships.com, I put in the information that I will be a junior or 3rd year student but I keep getting scholarships that are only for high school seniors or graduate students. I know I will probably have to take out aditional loans but I would like to try finding scholarships as well. Does anyone know any good sites online, or places I can go to find scholarships for transfer students?
Answer:
When I transferred, I looked at mt State Senator's website (this is state, not the senators in DC)
I don't know if all states do this but Maryand has a State Senatorial Scholarship. It's not a lot of $$$ but evey bit helps. Do a search on Senatorial Scholarships.
Also, call the financial aid office of your new college. Sometimes alumni of the university donate $$ for a scholarship for a specific type of student (majoring in a certain field, of a certain ancestry) that aren't widely publicized.
Good luck!
