I need your help on taking online classes, please?
Question:
Answer:
well first choose a college, once you apply you talk to the counsler and they explain EVERYTHING to you. everything your asking now ask the counsler of the school your planning to go to. for financial aid fill out a FAFSA which is a free financial aid and helps you with money.
I love online courses, and have earned degree from one and currently pursuing another. First you have to make sure its an accredited school. Also look at scholarships they offer, compare tuition.Begin by filling out the FAFSA. Be sure you can manage your time wisely.Online classes are challenging, but if you organize yourself you can do it.You can chose a avriety of online schools, and talk with the counselors. Also see how long it takes for them to respond.
I don't know much about computer programming online schools, but you can search them online and compare.
Good luck
I work at online school. The best way to go is to complete your Associates Degree at community college and than come to a online university to complete bachelors. You will be able to complete your associates credits in 1/2 or 1/3 of the cost of an regular college or online college.
AIU and the sister company CTU are good schools. I had friends graduated from both schools. ( I don't work at either ones by the way!)
"In-school" grants and scholarships as well has federal Grant from FAFSA can be used at these two schools.
You can seach in yahoo for web sites for these two schools and contact them to enroll.
Again, please do not try to complete entire degree online, you will save thousands if you will go to community college first.
Hope this helps!
Mandita. i disagree, go to a community college first, dont try to earn your whole degree online. I know alot who have earned their entire degrees online and are doing very well. Theres a high success rate for those who are dedicated.
Alex this depends on how you view it. I attend Davenport University and i have taken all my classes online. I love it! My major is computer information systems (CIS) with emphasis on programming. My school has a pretty descent technology department and they are always adding new programs. We have campuses all over Michigan with students from all over the place. They are pretty diverse. I chose to do online becasue of my families hectic schedule and to avoid daycare. I will admit i dont mind being able to sit in my own home in my jammies and a cuppa joe either to do homework... definately a plus.
I will tell you a few things though, just to try and help you decide: One is that as convenient as online classes are for a hectic lifestyle you have to be disiplined and really dedicated!! Online classes are great and the professors are generally pretty laid back compared to an in seat instructor, but you still have dues, alots of them. Two: with one in mind, you have to remember you are taking a 15 week in seat class and cramming it into 7 weeks. Its very fast paced and condensed. You have to be able to stay on top of you work, it moves too quick to fall behind. Online sounds easier but thats a mispreception and online shouldnt be mistaken for a correspondence mail course. These are real college classes just in a different format. I have alot of people and family around me that take online courses primarily because of their schedules or because another campus will offer the classes they need. My sister in law is a professional, shes very educated and holds a respectable position at our hospital, she also teaches the nursing program at a home town college and she takes online classes to further her degree.
The fees are alittle higher but alot depends on your schools tuition. I think they are worth it. I know someone who took classes at AIU and they werent so great, they were pushy on what thye wanted you to take not what you waana take and they didnt know their a** from a hole in the ground in the finacial department. ITT is credible. I know someone who went to Davenport and after graduation made nursing home administrator. Everyone i know who has graduated has gotten descent jobs. im 6 classes away from my degree. Im not complaining.
Student loans and grants you would have to check with the school or Fafsa on the web.
Alot will have to do with your preferences in a school though. It will be work i wont lie there. I know i got recognized by a faculty member and was nominated to the national deans list for a beautifully held 4.0. (The national deans list is pretty great for student recogiction and publication to all the right people plus they also offer services to students too.)
Most universities have have contact info for their admissions on their websites. You can take a peek at my colleges website, they explain things pretty descent, but shop around. It doesnt take long to enroll and get going. Your advisor can be your new bestfriend, they explain everything to you.
Hope this gives you some information
No, man, online classes are not good at all. The only good thing is that you can study in the comfort of your home. But the rest of it is a pain in the neck, yet it is expensive pain in the neck. In the normal class you would have the teacher in front of you, the teacher whom you can ask a question anytime. Online class, my foot. There is no teacher available. If you have a question, good luck reaching one. I spent about two hours while trying to reach somebody to answer my question. When I finally did reach someone, I asked a completely different question: “How do I get the reimbursement? I don’t want to be in your class anymore.” – this was the very next day after I signed up for the online class. And yes, it was much more expensive than the regular class.
Where can you talk to the counselor? In your dreams, that is. There is no counselor for the online course. You are on your own.
If you ever have to take a class, take the one that’s on campus. Yes, you have to drive there, but, no, you will not be disappointed. Otherwise, you can do what you want. You wanted my opinion of online classes, you got it.
