The IRS deposits on Friday nights after hours. In your case, Jan 26.
Your bank could have put it in your account that night, but some wait over the weekend and you get it on Monday.
There's no reason why you should have waited any longer unless you have a federal debt of some kind, like child support, a court judgment, student loans or back taxes.

I know they make the deposits on Fridays. I have e-filed with direct deposit in previous years and never had any problems. Did you check with your bank to see if they had any record of the transaction? (Make sure you didn't typo when entering your account number.) If that fails, ask the IRS to do a trace on the funds. I work in payroll and when an employee claims he didn't receive his direct deposit, there is a way to verify that the money was sent and where it was sent to.
However, I have also read that if you are claiming the EIC or any of the education credits your return will be delayed a little while they verify the info.
The same thing happened to me. I have been told that refunds claiming the EIC are being delayed an additional 2 weeks.
My status was showing that the deposit was made, until 1/31, then it changed to ref code 1121.so I don't know.
I would call them and see what they tell you...let us know!
I had similar happen. Filed 1/14. Accepted 1/17. Expected refund 1/26. Didn't happen. Again on 2/2, didn't happen. After looking at IRS website, I received reference code #1121. Called IRS. Was told due to a "glitch", it should be deposited on 2/9. I hope they are right!!
