Can foreign CPA's apply for the US professional certification?

Question:
Being familiar to the fact that US CPA's are asked to take a rigurous exam before receiving a professional certification, after researching some time ago for more complete information on that certification process, I discovered the website www.CPAexcel.com.

A person working for a company that offers CD's with study information (guided seminars), told me that it is possible for foreign CPA's to present the exam and earn the same certification.

May I ask you for additional references regarding other CPA's associations where to research and contact the appropriate person and get updated information?

Could the American Association of Certified Public Accountants be a feasible source of information on this topic?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Sincerely,
You should contact the board of accountancy for your state. To become a CPA in the US, you are required to that the unified CPA exam. Each state or US territory has specific education requirements that must be met.

The AICPA will refer you to the state board of accountancy. The website you mentioned provides links to the state boards (go to student center, CPA exam resources).

Good luck!
