Working mom. Want to start working at home to spend tome with kids" Any one know of on-internet job?

Question:
I have three toddlers and would like to spend more time with them at home. I am currently working at a CPA's office. We can not survive without my income. Is there a job that I can started at home on the internet. Like a data entry or something. Please help! I have been looking into some website, but i saw that must ask for you to pay. Are you suppose to pay?

Answer:
I know their are jobs out there but any company that asks you to pay to be employed is a rip-off and scam! Be very careful!! If you have data entry experience you could take a class in Medical billing and do that at home for doctor's offices. Hope this helps some! I am in the same boat and looking!
Try ebay!! You can sell lots of used children's clothing. Just browse the website to get a general idea of what price different items go for! While I was on maternity leave, I sold a LOT of old clothing. The extra cash sure did come in handy! I have a friend who also sells on ebay. She goes to discount stores and buys items to sell. She invests about $200 a month in products to resell. Last month she made over $1000! It depends how much time and effort you want to put into it. I would definitley look into that!! :)
i have run into that with every one i checked out. they say free until you get the paper work done then they want your credit card number which i dont own one so there fore i cant get the job, good luck.
Hi lala,

Will your CPA provide you with a laptop and allow you to 'tunnel' and perform work from home?

If you have the type of position where general forms are completed, you may have the opportunity to work from home part of the time, in the office the other part.

I do not know of any legitimate business you can operate solely on-line that don't involve an investment. Sorry.
if you are good at selling things and know a lot of girls you could try selling mary kay. you could do it at first while you are doing your other job just to see if you can do it. but i use to sell it and you can really make a lot of money. i know some girls who did but i didn't really like having to wear make-up all the time so i stopped. the cool thing about it too is that you can win things. like a car they pay 80% of the insurance for two years after that you can either buy the car for what it is worth or you can give it back. or you can take money instead of the car. there is lots of other cool stuff you can win every period too. good luck!
(sorry in advance for this long reply...lots to say)

I would watch some of those companies that want you to pay something. They are usually just trying to sell you a "list" of companies that have internet workers. These lists are usually very old or the lists contain the same information you can find yourself by looking online. I have been there, done that.

If there is a certain one that you want to take a gamble with (like it is a CPA type job) then go for it, but be prepared to get screwed.

You want a data entry job? Have you considered a call center job? I plan to do that. I am pregnant now and I plan to work for the first few years after the baby (because we have our care program figured out and it is free). After that (2009 or 2010) when the baby is 2-3 years old I plan to quit work and start my own call center. I currently have a temp job that will be ending around that time so I don't plan to look for additional employment after that.

Anyway, enough about me, back to you.

You might want to think about it. You need to have a high speed internet service (DSL or cable, no modem) and you need a dedicated land line (Not a cell phone, a corded line that goes into your house. It must be dedicated meaning you can not use it for your home line, it must be for your business use only - because you are paid for each incoming call. Also, I said corded. You can not use a cordless phone, it must be corded, although you can get a headset).

Your computer also must be able to support certain software and each company is different on their requirements so you might end up having to buy a new computer or doing an upgrade if yours is old.

Talk to your tax guy (we have). You can deduct your computer, phone line and even a % of your ultilities bills and rent payment. The % is equal to the size of your office. If your office is 10% of the total square foot of your place then you can deduct 10%. If you own and not rent then you can deduct that % of your house insurance and house taxes (but no part of your mortgage payment, sorry).

You are a CPA so look up the benefits.

There are tons of call centers out there. I plan to use Liveops. They do have an application fee (don't worry it is not like the fee those other places are charging, their fee actually gets you the job).

If you are scared to pay a fee (because you have been burned in the past), then West is the company for you. They do not charge an application fee.

Once you are hired (you have to go through a hiring process) they will want to make sure your computer has what it needs, they will want to make sure you have the phone set up as I explained. And lastly, you will need to take a test. You will be given a script to read and they will test you on your voice and stuff.

Don't worry, you won't be cold calling or asking people to buy magazines. You will be part of a call center so you will be receiving calls from people who are calling in wanting what you are selling. All calls are incoming so you won't have long distance charges.

Every project is different so everyday it is different. One day you are taking advance orders for the new XBox and the next day you are taking food orders for a catering company (just examples).

Oh, you might wonder why I am using Liveops instead of West. Liveops pay is a little higher so I am willing to go with them (even with the application fee).

Oh, you also only get paid for your call time. So if you are working from 12:00 to 1:00, but you are actually on the phone 45 minutes then you only get paid for 45 minutes. Between calls you are not paid, so work when they say they have the most calls (usually in the afternoon). This is just an example of how it works. There is a ticker on each one so you know how long you have been talking total. To get maximum benefit I would think you would want to work at least a few hours a day. I plan to work about 4-7 hours a day, so part time. You can work full time though if you want.

Oh, one final note. You are an independent contractor. You pay all your own taxes. They say you can make around 6-20 dollars an hour as a call center, but you pay ALL your own taxes. I believe that employment taxes are around 40% or so. That means that at the end of each quarter (or year depending on when you do your taxes) expect to pay back 40% of what you earned in employment tax. This is another reason why you need to keep track of all your expenses (as I stated above) because it is those expenses that are going to keep your profits down.

Good luck. I have included links to the two companies I recommend. Just go to their call center or employment page information. These are only two of many out there, but these two I know are not scams, but you can always research and find others I am sure.
No, you do not have to pay to have a work at home job.
Almost anything that would want you to send them money so you can work for them, should be observed as some type of scam.

You should never have to put out money to work online from home!

This woman is amazing with her writing and her research.
She took me under her wing and I've been writing articles from home ever since.

Check out this link for a load of links to different work at home jobs.

There is stuff out there from data entry to online loan officers.

And if your a good writer and are interested in writing articles from home for weekly pay, send me an email, and I'll give you a different link for a writer for hire group.
Hi, I have alot of work at home options and information on my blog. Check the source below for the link.

Regards-
I have had work at home jobs before and never paid anything. You don't pay to do a work at home job, but you will have to pay to do a business. I have my own business that allows me to stay home instead of working out of the home. For more information go to www.freedomathometeam.com/dhud...
Am sorry I can't answer you because I search for an Internet job and they all asking for money and am not sure if it is a scam or not does why i never try it. So if you find an answer to your question please let me know because am also looking for a job at home.
I spent this past year trying to weed out the different survey sites and the different sites that pay you to try things without trying to scam you.

I put together a blog for my friends (I figure I'd share it since I wish someone had put this together for me) and I listed the sites that didn't require me to go through pages of ads and that actually pay out cash and not points or entries into a sweepstakes.

I'd say that realistically if you spend about 2-3 hours a day and complete the surveys and offers for about 10 sites or even just to refer your friends that are tight on money now and then, you can average about $150- $250 a week. If you want to check it out my blog its:

There's no gimmick or money to spend just a way for you to make a few extra bucks. Hopefully this helps!
Hope these job websites can help you.

we are looking into starting our own business that we run out of our home (and can basically work the hours that work best for us). we don't think we would enjoy the data entry stuff, but would like combining both the online and offline stuff in our town. we saw this one http://www.businessdirectorysecrets.com... and wondered if anyone else had looked into it? it seems legit and like it would work with our schedule. looking forward to hearing if anyone else has done this.
