Are their any on line companys that can really help me with irs tax problems?back taxes?
Question:
For those types of problems, you want to have personal contact with a CPA or enrolled agent, not some Internet site.
turbotax I think. I do my taxes every year thru them. H & R block, too has online tax stuff.
Take Judy's advice. As usual, she's totally correct. Do NOT waste your time or money with Block or any of the other storefront tax-prep mills. Only a tiny fraction of their staff are qualified to handle that type of issue and there's no guarantee that you'll ever make contact with one of those staffers.
Whoever gave her a thumbs down is an idiot.
Do you owe back taxes, or is it that you've not filed tax returns for previous years? If it's the latter, and you have the money to pay the taxes, that's not too big a deal. If you filed your returns but can't afford to pay your taxes, the IRS will work out payments for you.
The payments MAY be more than you can pay, unfortunately, but it's worth a try to see what they offer. You can enter a payment agreement at the IRS web site.
Unfortunately, many CPA's dont know a lot abot tax law, other than keeping the required accounting documents. You might need to see a tax attorney. Ask for a free consultation.
