I'm havin some PS3 problems. need some help?

Question:

I just got a PS3 like two days ago,but my software won't update I need to go onto the internet..I first have to test the connetion settings and it says everything is suceddfull I just need a software update.and everytime I update it it takes hecka long, but then after awhile it just stops and says error occured so could you helo please?

Answer:
ok, the first time you update, you have to update with an ethernet cable plugged into your ps3 to the modem or to a back of a computer with internet, (the ethernet cable came with the ps3)

then after you update via ethernet cable, you can then use your wifi for wireless internet-online play

Try to download the update from here with ur pc

Then upload that into ur ps3 by memory card then open it.

It's best for updating to connect the ps3 to the computer or router with the ethernet cable. then run connection setup for wired connection then run update.

your internet connection might be a bit slow for the PS3. You could download there update from there website and put it on to a USB drive then put that it into your PS3.
