What are limitations of project management?

Question:
Any person who did MBA or any professional can give the answer

Answer:
The project manager is typically limited to desk work, and is not expected to actually work hands-on on the deliverables.

However, in the real world, the PM is usually the key engineer or other key role, so the person is wearing multiple hats and probably doing a lot of work for free.
All limitation is by the LACK of knowledge of the job one is the project manager of and if it is building something which is most of project managing jobs then lack of being an engineer is another one.

If you work for a bridge builder you better know more then what is bridge is and what material goes into it. Same with a buildings roads etc.
There is a lot of logistics that goes into the completing a project much more then just being on time, dealing with all the agencies and being a big picture person.

That is why all projects have project engineers and the project manager or management companies are just high price paper pushers.
Many are getting away from them unless they can out source them to India/Asia. They are even going that way with some types project engineers unless they are experience field engineers who can walk, talk, chew gum and they are liked by the superintendence. They the sky is the limit.

Even if this isn't the type of project management you are asking about it won't change much in what your limitation will be in what I stated here. That is from many years of accumulated knowledge.
