Question:
My company hires temps to work. Our department has a training program to show them how to perform job tasks. We also give certification tests to see how well they understand how to perform the job. I want to use a software program called ExamView Pro to issue the tests on our network. I received the setup files from my instructor (I’m also a student studying Microsoft Networking). My instructor said he has the program on demo disk that the school receives when they order textbooks from Microsoft and it’s ok for my department to use. It’s an older version of the one currently available. I did some looking around on the Internet and it looks like most teachers receive the program free when they order textbooks also.
Is it considered freeware? Would there be a licensing issue? I understand software licensing a little.
Answer:
No, it is not freeware. You should contact the publisher www.fscreations.com for a definitive answer.
I don't really see an issue, especially if the company that bought whatever the software came with is the same company you're issuing exams for.
If the company is concerned about licensing, I'm sure you'll find guideline either as you install the software on in a readme.txt file located on the disc.
Good luck!
