"best" file format for video?
Question:
thanks for your help!
Answer:
Best for what?
Best picture quality
Smallest File
Playing on a CD/DVD
Editing file
AVI is probably capable of the best picture quality.
MPEG-1 is a standard video format for making Video CDs, MPEG-2 has good quality and can burn onto a DVD disc.
WMV has small file size and good picture quality
Most of the FLV files are pretty poor quality to begin with, no format will make a poor quality video better.

if that is all the options u have then i would go with avi or mpeg 1. i prefer divx. there are some programs that will convert most vids into divx for free, just google for the best one that you think u need.
I prefer raw AVI, but for sharing purpose mp4 or Xvid...
it all depends on what u want to do with the file different plans means different file types. but if u just want to watch it try using avi. also you dont need to spend money on a file changing program just change it from the files properties or on its name.
depending on who's viewing, usually mpg is best.. Sometimes windows has a hard time processing AVI.. See good website below for reference
