Lenovo y400 notebook operated on window vista os has audio problem?

Question:
i bought a lenovo Y400 notebook recently, after about a week, the built in speakers went no sound all out of a sudden when i was listening to music one night. i tried to put my earphone to the jack and listen, no sound too. then i sent it to the lenovo service centre instantly the next day. after about a week of investigation by the technical team working in the sevice centre, they cannot solve the problem. they told me they have helped me do all the necessary steps. e.g. reinstall the audio driver, use a new speaker to test out and even change the motherboard to test, but no sound still. but i was told that this problem may be due to the window vista os being imcompatible to some of the hardware components or driver softwares running in the notebook. they added an improved version of motherboard is being manufactured and will be delivered to them soon, they will solve the problem with the improved motherboard. what are your views?if they still can't solve the problem, what can i do
and yet another good user story about vista
So, lenovo gets to hold your notebook during this process? I would be fed up with both lenovo and Vista. lenovo should have done there part by testing the components of their notebooks before releasing them to consumers.

If they can't fix the issue and won't provide you with a notebook thats works the way your want. Have you thought about telling the to provide you with a free copy of Windows XP Pro?
I'm experiencing the same problems, but i found out that i could still use the drivers for windows xp.If you want to install the windows xp driver, before install installing, install in windows xp2 compatible mode by changing the driver .exe file property.
Get your money back. I am sure they knew about the problem long before you put your hard earned money down...
There is a compatibility wizard built into Windows Vista. Try using that to see if it will help. To get to it, type "compatibility wizard" in the search line down near the start button, then follow the steps to use the wizard. Vista will allow some programs to run, depending on the compatibility.
Vista (MS) ask all major hardware and software co. to set up there new stuff to work with Vista OS. Some hardware and software co have no ideal what they are doing, and have no way of putting out there junk to work with Vista. It takes time and brains and a lot of these little mom and pop hardware/software co to fugure out the new codes that come with Vista. Vista is a good OS that works vary well with any good legit hardware/software Co. its the get rich qiuck Co that are the problem with every OS upgrade. We saw the same thing with windows 95, 98, 2000, ME.XP and so on and so on. The problem is not Vista, Its comes from Co that have no ideal what they are doing. Time will fix the problem and I'm sorry you are having that problem. Get mad at the right person tho. MS puts out the best OS and its up to the rest to upgrade there stuff to work with it.
