The pay is great and you get to do the hiring and firing.
Cause it is a well paying job, you can actually raise a family on it and usually you never get laid off, because you are the one that does the laying off. Also, when you are retired then you can set up a consulting business on line and do all the stuff you sat in an office doing at your breakfast table overlooking the lake.
Humans are complex creatures, so there's always some new technique to dealing with them. If you don't let the negativity get to you, it can be a fun job.
