What's the best way to get into human resources?

Question:
I don't have direct hr experience but i've held many leadership positions in my sorority including VP2 years and President for a year. I've done lots of comm. service, i only have 12 hours left to take at UT with a psych degree and minor in edu. psych. Please help! I'm wanting to atleast get some hr experience in Austin.

Answer:
A great way to break into HR and get generalist experience is to work as a personnel coordinator in a staffing firm. Try the biggies like Adecco, Kelly, but look up the American Staffing Association (ASA) to find local companies as well.
Apply for an entry level positon in that field. Try doing an internship. Take some human resources course before you graduate, join the human resources program. Get a certificate in human resources. Get your master's degree in human resources. Try being an administrative assistant/receptionist. Apply for jobs in as an HR clerk, HR human assistant. The other user provided some good information.
