If there is no management of project scope, you will deal with too many features, not enough resources, and too little time to complete the project. Many people call this "feature creep" and by the way, it is not always imposed by the customer or stakeholders of the project. Sometimes the team members (we always want to do things better!!) will cause it. Don't do more than the customer and stakeholders need or want!
