im going to bring it to a technician but i just want to know if ill be able to save my files from disc C and D? or atleast disc D? is there anyway i could do it myself? please help. please tell me its very possible
Answer:
OS not found could well mean the drive is dead. If so you won't get your files back unless you send it out for recovery (expensive) - but if the drive is NOT dead and you are taking it to a tech, they should have an external enclosure to attach your drive to their machine and then they can put the data on CD or DVD or onto your new machine for you.
Since it is a laptop you can not hook multiple drives to it without the use of a USB adapter. However with that said with two drives connected yes you can move files from one drive to the other. If you are not experienced I would recommend you take it to your tech.
My Laptop did the exact same thing. same exact situation. I took it in to have them look at it and they said the mother bored was frayed, meaning all your files are lost for good and it would be cheaper just to buy a new laptop.
