Question:
"The software you are installing has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.(in blue->)(Tell me why this is important)
Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future.Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the software vendor for software that has passed windows logo testing."
can someone tell me whats wrong the box and paper it comes with says its Windows Xp compatible.help me please.
and even if i go ahead and install it anyway when i plug in the cam nothing comes up.
Answer:
ok, some developers don't want to pay MS to be a licensed vendor for drivers. so thats why the drivers are unsigned appears.
my soundcard (m-audio) does the same..
since you don't state make/model for ur camera.. go to the makers site.. have a look at the support or downloads section.. and obviously the right version of windows etc.
normally the drivers on the website are newer on the website hhmm 70-85% of the time , than the ones provided on cd.
basically install the drivers first, then reboot the pc after its finnished then plug in the cam.. the MS one i have you install, then plug in when it prompts you to..
it's better to stick to very well known brands like logitech and MS to name but 2, as the amount of people that will be using the specific products are far greater.
theres SO many no-name or "who?" brands out there that have pretty poor drivers out there. sometimes its a case of , you get what you pay for.
