Are There Any Decent Careers To Be Had In Human Resources?

Question:
Ive heard HR is/has been losing its importance somewhat in the workplace, that's why many businesses outsource the HR function. Like I said, this is just what Ive heard.

Do people take you seriously if you work in HR or are you seen as dispensable? Is it a frustrating profession?

Answer:
It can be a very frustrating profession, but very rewarding.
I believe the HR field to still be in high demand, for good HR people, and a very competitive field. If it was going to the wayside, there would not be masters degree's in HR.
I love my job and I don't think I am seen as dispensable in any way.
Have you ever wanted a job with great benefits? That's what HR handles; human resources takes care of a company's benefits and other employee related services.
Do you want to make some poor, hard-working person happy with a vacation or health benefits? Go for it!
This country is trying to make benefits obsolete (believe me Ive never qualified for any)
so, help give a reward to those who earned it and are lucky enough to actually get them!
It can give valuable experience for moving into a counselling / therapy based profession
Don't do it. Nasty horrible profession!
Youi know, I hate being referred to as a "resource". Why cant we be called people ?
Human Resources is exciting. You must be in it to really enjoy it. "You are a part of it." Very challenging, tough. Satisfaction after meeting the goals is boundless. Better HR practices make better companies. HR is like the blood in the circulatory system.
