Ain't it ok not to go out with your teammates that don't treat you nicely?
Question:
today they are going out for lunch for they have completed a "sprint" (a kind of unit release) of which I wasn't even part of. I feel like not going with them. What do you say?
Answer:
I would not mingle with them off the clock either. If confronted about it, I'd say "I am not here to be a sweetie pie, I am here to build my career."
Do you have a union? If not, I am sure your supervisor has a supervisor himself... Good luck
You should talk to whoever is directly over you, and if you don't feel satisfied after the conversation, talk to that person's boss, and so on. Process up the chain of command and let them know how you feel but don't keep it in and quit without ever saying anything. Maybe the team needs help being aware of how they make others feel. You can be a part of helping them in that. Look at the big picture and look for opportunities to make the company better, instead of complaining about the negatives and doing nothing. Every company has negative aspects, it just takes people with initiative to adjust it.
i wouldn't go out w/them either if they didn't make me comfy as part of the team.favoritism sux real bad..but ..are you the low man on the totem poll?maybe it just looks like favoritism to you for that reason maybe you just have to work your up the ladder.
