I am having trouble with my microphone.?
Question:
Answer:
In the bottom right hand corner of your desktop screen (near the time) you should see a little speaker looking image. Double left click it. That'll bring up some audio settings. Go up to Options then click on Properties. At the bottom, screen down and make sure "Microphone" is checked. Click OK. Now you should see the microphone settings on your volume settings. The Microphone slider should be in the middle (keep it there or move it up). Also, make sure mute is unchecked. That's usually the thing that's wrong with mics.
To test your mic, go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound Recorder. Click on the little red button and speak into the mic.
Also, make sure your green plug is plugged into the green input on your pc, and the red is plugged into the red.
There may also be a sound card program installed on your computer that is "taking over" audio controls from the default windows one. Try to find that one (Creative?) and go to their settings.
run your new hardware wizard if you are using xp then trubble shoot if still not working un-instal and reinstal that should work
