Poor work-site management by contractors meant that some projects went awry. And now that the United States is handing over reconstruction efforts to Iraq, many involved with the process worry that the Iraqis don't have the training or the money to keep U.S.-built facilities running.
But more than 100 health-care facilities that were scheduled to be finished by now instead are empty because the contractors assigned to build them did not get their jobs done.

One lesson to be learned: the Mid-East did not - does not want us there anyway. Sometimes we can learn from a terrorist, if we can actually open our eye's long enough to understand when we are not welcome to butt in their business for our own political gain etc.
The next is that most of the upper class's in the US has no qualms with war profiteering. It's just "doing business' for them. Capitalism of the worst kind. Let alone creating wars and death so they CAN earn their families a little more money, or a few extra vacation homes, a few more diamond ring's, etc.
It brings to mind Bush joking around about his wealthy base that Michael Moore made a point of exposing in Fahrenheit 9/11

you worry about your taxes ,Iraqis also worry where are all sums of money found with arrested former govenmers,and petrol income? you explain why week ,ineffective government to be in Baghdadand ,why US governers let uneducated people to choose leaders and managers ,let the wolfs and sheeps together in the same yard by the name of democracy.
while Iraqis still have hope as there is no dectator any more and US gov. with UN. will fix the status soon or later ,hope soon, get tired enough.

Gee - "some projects went awry." I notice how careful you were not to give percentages for failed projects.
The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of our projects were successful - but because they were successful not considered to be 'newsworthy.'
