1.Define the terms alpha version, beta version, and production version. Are there well-defined criteria for?

Question:
Project Management 2

Answer:
Alpha version is the version which is released in the QA environment before it goes to UAT(User Acceptance Testing). Basically here the application/software is tested within the company itself by Quality Assurance engineers. If passed it is then released to UAT. Where the client gonna test it in actual environment with multiple users. This is the beta version. If this also passes then the s/w is moved into production where is it accepted and used by client.
Alpha= 1 stage, not for production, just testing
Beta = 2 stage, most bugs are fixed but still in the testing stage
Final =Ready for your website.

Hope this helps
