What is the deference between management and project management?

Question:

Answer:
Management is a generic term. It deals with all kinds of people management, material management, project management, etc
Project management is exclusively the management of a project. You can say Project Management is a sub set of the term Management.
Project Management is one type of management. It includes a lot more than what people think it does. If you read all project management literature, you will find that there are 9 different knowledge areas for project management:
1. Scope Management
2. Time Management
3. Cost Management
4. Quality Management
5. Human Resources Management
6. Communications Management
7. Risks Management
8. Procurement Management
9. Integration Management.

You, as a project manager, have to employ your skills, knowledge, and tools and techniques within the above mentioned areas to different project activities to ensure that it is successful.

Hope this helps.
