IT people, please help me...please?
Question:
Answer:
In short, there is ALWAYS A LOG that tells what times things are accessed, opened, closed, changed, printed, etc. and so get the log brought up, and make sure you have YOUR alibi for the times that the print out say... that clears YOU.. doesnt point a finger at her, but will clear you. Good Luck!
You need to go back to Blackboard - they do issue the software, but they also host it on their servers. If someone logged in, they would have the log files.
assuming the security issues,
one:
if they are recording ip addresses, it can be use to see where and who logged in...
if the audit features are turned on,
the ip address and logon would say who access what..
since it's your teacher's acct, it would be able to trace the ip and the logon time... hopefully you can prove where you were at that time...
if the access was done at the girls home, she caught..
ask for a hearing from you dept chair, asking for a logon record and time and ip...
for examle if the girl log on with the teacher's acct,
at her house that will show, cause i'm sure the teacher can answer she didn't logon at 1am in the bronx..
reason why bb won't help because they don't want to get into the privacy issue of saying they are tracking everyone..
the big brohter issue..
If your are truly innocent of all wrongdoing in this mess, hire a lawyer and sue that girl that girl who is accusing you for slander and deformation of character. Sue her and her family for everything they got!
Schools are notoriously poor in dealing with this sort of stuff.
Of course if you are not 100% innocent...
first u have to search the log file. see the log in time, the computer which use for log in and all u can find.
second, if there is a network maybe she can access from home is she know the pass and the server.
