Starting a BA Hons Accounting/Finance course soon, any specific texts that can give me a good start?

Question:
The University doesn't have a reading list so i was looking for recommendations or suggestions. Or anything you think i really need to know about the specified subjects.

I'm unsure how to start. My modules are in,

Economics and Law
Financial Accounting
Information and Communication Technologies
Management Accounting
Personal Development
Quantitative Analysis for Business

Thanks

Answer:
I just studied some of these subjects at University. Some books were not that good, but I have an excellent text book for Financial Accounting. I think it has a title of "Financial Accounting" and the authors are Needles & Powers. It is an American book. I never liked accounting & always thought it was hard, but this book is so simple it makes accounting very easy. check it out, it's really simple and straight forward.
You're uni may not have a reading list, but they should still tell you what books you'll need - that's what my uni did.

Don't waste your money yet, cos you'll be spending hundreds soon! The annoying thing is that a lot of the books you might only need one chapter!

It's a shame too that you hadn't asked this question sooner cos I probably had most of the books you'll need!
