This is question for those who know about human resources (serious answers only plz)?

Question:
it has just been brought to my attention that me and my hausband have less than a month to move from our current residency. although we are not legally married we introduce ourselves as husband and wife. last year he was in a life threatening car accident which left him with alot of nerve damage and is unable to work. he luckily is able to collect social security which isnt that much. at the present moment i am the only one with a stable income and because of our current situation as far as moving is concerned we want to relocate to another state which i am currently looking into for jobs before the move. my question is this is there a way that ss or public assistance would be able to assist us with moving expenses even if we are not legally married? if so how would i go about getting more information on this matter. and would it be easier if we were legally married. thank u to all those who took an interest in my dilemma. and any suggestions will be tried and greatly appreciated.
need to send you what there is what you want .but im also limited in how i can get you the info you need laison req form opp
I know of no way you can get public assistance for moving. The reason being if you have employment here then there should be no reason for you to leave the state and move. I doubt if you could get public assistance even if you were married. Wanting to relocate to another state is not a reason to leave a job you already have and expecting the government (taxpayers) to foot the bill.
im on it and they didn't help me when i moved out of state but since your husband was hurt they might help you and your husband call social security they can tell you
There are laws that protect Common Law marraiges. Each state has different laws but this is the terminology you can use to research. Good Luck and I hope things get better for you both.
Talk to you local Social Services. They will asign you a social worker and maybe able to help you. I am not sure because there arent any kids envolved that they will help but it might get you to someone that can.
Become his Durable Power of Attorney - even a spouse doesn't have the privilege of making decisions or asking for assistance anymore unless they become their DPOA. Just get a form from your local hospital and sign it and have someone notarize it.
I THINK THAT IF YOU MARRY IT WILL BE EASIER FOR U BECAUSE U HAVE YOURE HUSBAND HURT, N U CAN GET THE BENEFITS
Yes you can live on social assistance until you get on your feet where ever you plan to move look up goverment programs on the computer Good luck
