What should I do?
Question:
Answer:
There is something called the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 which requires all companies employing 15 or more people to treat pregnant workers the same way they treat other workers who have medical disabilities and cannot work. The law prohibits job discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth or related disability. It guarantees equal treatment of disabilities, including pregnancy, birth or related medical conditions. Your employer cannot fire you because you are pregnant or force you to take mandatory maternity leave. You are protected in other ways too. You must be granted the same health, disability and sick-leave benefits as any other employee who has a medical condition. You must be given modified tasks, alternate assignments, disability leave or leave without pay (depending on your company's policy). You are allowed to work as long as you can perform your job. You are guaranteed job security on leave. You continue to accrue seniority and vacation, and to remain eligible for pay increases and benefits. If your company does not provide job security or benefits to other employees, it does not have to provide them to a pregnant woman.
I would contact an attorney just to ensure that you are not having your rights violated.
Congratulations on your pregnancy and best wishes.
I used to be a paralegal, and I know that laws vary by state. Repost with the state you live in and maybe I can help.
I would talk to a lawyer!
Maybe you can check with google or speak to a therapist.
I would definately talk to an attorney as soon as possible!
Apply some where else. Obviously your employer isn't fair and doesn't value your work experience. Cut your losses and find a job elsewhere.
Go to that person's boss and complain. I'd also check out the laws in your state first, because you might be able to file a lawsuit if you can prove they're discriminating against you. Good luck!
Confused about the question, did you take a voluntary leave of absence? If they let you go, you should be able to draw unemployment .
you need to speak with a lawyer if you are really serious. But also you should ask yourself if the job is worth fighting for. Would it be easier to just go get another job and not have to deal with all this BS?
take long leave
NOTHING is worth losing your baby over! Personally, I'd rather be homeless than endanger my unborn by lifting more than doc recommends. If you have to, go to a temp agency and become a Secretary.
Your a mommy, now. Congratulations.
i would get your self a lawyer its not right what they did and you can sue them

If you are a U.S. citizen, there are federal laws against pregnancy discrimination. For example, your employer must give you the same consideration as someone suffering from an injury or other disability. Ask yourself this--Would your employer find light duty work for someone with a broken arm or leg? If the answer is "yes," contact an attorney.
ask your boss if you can get another job io dan't know
