Software testing, how to break into the market, pls i need advice?

Look for information related to the software life cycle and how testing fits into it, I would suggest also learning a few automated testing tools such as Winrunner and Quicktest pro by Mercury interactive as these are usually required by many employers.
Also there are plenty of forums you can join such as http://www.sqaforums.com/ that might be also helpful.
