I bought a new DELL laptop, and I need to test all hardware and its other functions. Can anyone guide me through it and give me the main and important stuff to do to make sure everything's working properly, as far as hardware (my main concern) and software. Thank you.

try everesthome s/w. It actually doesnt test the hardware but it will show u the configuration in detail. try it out
this site will give you a sony vaio laptop just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want/need a laptop (like me).
