Workplace religious music.?

I work in the warehouse of a well known retail store chain. One of my coworkers insists on turning the radio to the local Christian station. It plays music, sermons, and political opinion pieces. Both myself and another coworker are not Christian and have asked him to please turn it off, or switch to a non-religious station. He has refused. The supervisor of our department is also Christian and has not said anything either way about this issue. Is this something my coworker and I can take to Human Resources or to our boss' boss? It's getting very tiring to have to listen to it day in and day out.

I think you might go over the manager's head to Human Resources. People shouldn't have to be forced to listen to religious and political material they don't want to listen to.

If it really bothers you, go to HR. Otherwise I would suggest taking turns. If you really do not like it, just turn it off every time you go by the radio. There are only 2 types of music that my customers have ever complained about, one was rap, the other christian.

You could suggest he use an ipod or some other portable radio with earphones. If you have an HR department you should absolutely take it to them. This could be construed as harrassment.
