Question:
We have a CV from a guy that is pitching for a large job in a country outside of the USA (Caribbean). His CV is extensive as is his list of projects (construction / development and management) that he / his company has worked on over the last 15 years. He does not list a website. I cannot find him doing a basic Google search. I want to do some sort of beacground checking on him before we even meet to see if this can go anywhere. Does anyone know where else I can start on the net?
this is a web site jus copy and paste
If he and his businesses have operated in the US or based there, then you can search the US Better Business Bureau's website for more information. You can at least get information on the businesses themselves, if they are in good standing, and contact information.
www.bbb.org
If this is a serious business transaction, I would suggest that you hire a professional investigator to do a preliminary background check on the guy.
This type of investigation, particularly when the subject is in another country, doesn't really lend itself to "do-it-yourself" research.
A qualified investigator willl have access to databases not available to the general public, as well as a network of contacts within the countries where your guy has previously done business.
