After downloading codec for movie torrent have lost all sound on pc?
Question:
Answer:
If you have installed something which is causing a problem which won't unistall fully, then trying to load things on top of this may not solve your problems. If the last suggestion doesn't work, restore your system to how it was before you installed the codec pack. In Vista, search for 'restore' and it will take you to System Restore. Choose a restore point before your install and viola!
Tisk tisk. Movie torrents? Everyone knows the world according to yahoo has no such thing as evil naughty piracy. Just 12-year olds who can bypass school filters and call themselves hackers.
Anyway.
There's been a lot of malware about recently masquerading as beneficial 'codec packs'. I must say, I've never heard of the Vista codec pack at all. So you'll probably do well with running some sort of malware scan when you're done with fixing your sound.
If you know what company and make your sound driver is, then good for you. Go to the company who make the card (realtek.com.tw in my case) and download the latest drivers for your sound card. Then install them and reboot w/ crossed fingers.
If you don't, weep.
Failing that, go to Start > Run > dxdiag and search around for details.
