Question:
I wanted a Human resources degree because I felt it left me open to find a job in any company. Every company has a HR dept. But lately I've been playing w/ the idea of a probation officer and I want it bad! It's the first thing I've become passionate about since I started this whole journey BACK to school! Can I become a probation officer w/ a Human resource degree!?!
Answer:
Background qualifications for probation officers and correctional treatment specialists vary by State, but a bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, or a related field is usually required. Some employers require previous experience or a master’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Human resources would not quailfy as a related field.
Yes you can, and at the same you have to go through intrusive background check.
