Broadband 8Mb/s not fast enough with BT Option 3?
Question:
Now i'm not a novice internet user, so can someone explain to me how the speed of my internet can slowly increase by me using it alot? since when did any electronic device do this?
has anyone also had this problem with their new BT Option 3?
The lady on the phone didnt stutter to give me an explination, or pause at anytime to think, so i'm guessing she's telling the truth, or feeding the same bullsh*t to everyone who calls.
Answer:
What happens is that the connection goes live and then BT place a monitor on the line for around 10 days. Once this time has been met, the optimum speed configuration for your connection will be met
For most people, the increase in speed happens straight away but for others it can take time - bit of a postcode lottery I'm afraid.
Also, it is likely that your line will not be a 8mb line - and it will most likely be shared with other local accounts. They do this based on the theory that domestic accounts will not be used as constantly as business accounts.
Hi Guji
did you check that your line can physically handle 8mb?
As you are probably aware, if the line cant handle 8mb then it doeasn't matter how much you try to shove down it, it wont get any more
Ive just put an order in for this, as moving house and wanted to upgrade. I dont think speed slowly increases it should be there from the start. Sounds like she is fobbing you off.
Your PC says 1.2 MB...where?
