I have had a job as a Salesperson/Project Manager in a Small Construction Company. In my job description I also have to get clients to use our service. After Tomorrow I will start going to many different Companies, Realty's, Management, Architects, and Realtor, to offer our service. I am just starting and have no experience in this manner but have the learning capacity and speed. Can anyone help me with how should I present myself to other companies when offering my service, what should I say and should I call before, or just pick company's I believe would be good and head on. I thank you in advance and say wish me luck, i'll look sharp and prefessional just need advice since its my first time and I really need this.
first, take a deep breathe...
when presenting yourself to a potential client, smile, be yourself - believe or not that always works.
after doing that, give a brief introduction about yourself and the organization that your represent, and the products that you offer - most managers/owners are really busy so you must capture their attention right away, however, don't over load them with too many facts or figures, because, they're really not listening you! (sad, but true.)
as far as calling ahead of time, if you are trying to set up an appointment to meet with the manager/owner, tell them that you only want 15 min to 30 min of their time - most of the time you have to do quick presentation and get on to the next client.
