Project management methodologies?

Question:
what are Project management methodologies?

Answer:
Project management methodologies are defined procedures for executing project management activities. Basically a PM methodology is a rule-book/guideline for how to execute project management.

Normally a PM methodology would be specific to a particular organization. ie how they in particular execute project management.

See the link for further definition and examples

They can be high-level, or very detailed.
the above answer is right. but you can use "project management body of knowledge" as a base for your own methodology. (PMBOK 2004, see www.PMI.org)
