Is certification is really required for software testing?

Question:
I have completed masters degree in computer so i would like to know that in order to apply for testing job in software, is testing certification is required?

Answer:
Although a testing certificate isn't necessary, it will set you apart from other graduates if that's the area you want to pursue.

ISEB Certification does appear to be a common requirement in Software Testing jobs that I've looked at.
no
Yes most employers will require it. Software and computers are growing industries. There are always new ways to write code and other new standards. Certification helps guarentee that you know what your doing
Any IT Certification will definitely boost your chances of getting a dream job, especially if you are applying as a fresher.

In case you already have sufficient experience to show your skills, then there is no urgent for the certification.
Actually, that depends on many factors. For example, if u have enough experience, certification is not really required to fetch a new job. It would more be like an extra activity on ur part. If u are starting afresh on ur career front, go for it as it will be considered as a plus by companies, but the fact remains that don't rely on certification as THE thing which is gonna fetch a job.

Best of luck with ur career.
