I Just got an offer for a record deal from Warner! But there's a catch, and another option.. What should I Do?

I have just received an offer from a newly-formed company called Defient Entertainment, and they are a new part of Warner Music Group. You can read about them here:

This is very exciting, but other than the fact that this company is part of WARNER, I feel that it may not do the best for my career since it is newly formed, and hasnt had any breakthrough acts yet
Also, I was recently contacted by a management company who has strong contacts, such as to producers of Jessica Simpson, Jesse McCartney,Ashlee Simpson,Smash Mouth and a lot of other current young acts. They want to find me an opportunity to secure a major record contract which is also quite exciting.
Im not sure whether to turn to Warner or the Management company
What should I do?

Well, I don't know much about the recording and acting business, but I will say this much: you are awfully young to be offered a big contract from anybody.
And the same rule applies here that applies to everywhere: if is seems to good to be true, then it probably is! If you have an agent, ask for a lot of information. Get an attorney to advise you on the legal ramifications and the small print.
AND--What about your parents? They should have as big a say in something like this as anyone, and should probably not steer you wrong. What about school? You can't give up school for something like this. You could end up a one hit wonder and then have nothing to fall back on. Make sure you have time to finish your education! (Sorry, that's the teacher and the mama coming out!)

I would get an agent to field contracts for you and an attorney to read over them. My wife has a cousin that is in marketing with Columbia and deals with several artists. He always talks about the artists and their agents.
I don't believe a word of it...you'd have a lawyer by now telling you what to do.
