Dear all i am doing my internship with a software company, which was initially providing customised packages of accounting, payroll and inventory management. The company has a strong presence in middle east with a brand name of FOCUS. It has now ventured into providing web enabled versions of these products for small to medium enterprises.My project is market research on the web enabled products of this organization which will be conducted online for their middle east based customers. My question is that wether this research is a kind of brand extension or a product extension. What questions areas should i focus to undersatnd the belief of customers in this company as a brand.

Branding and product marketing are not always separate. If a brand carries several products under its banner then the recognition of the name of the brand which is sometimes the major corporation is what you want recognized. Sometimes its the individual product or the combination of the two like Ford Mustang.
There are also levels of corporate branding such as AIG which is a multinational company that owns American General that in turn provides many different products.
Don't let other's cynicism stop you from asking for help.
So, basically you want us all to do the job your are supposed to do.
