since outsourcing to third world countries has begun, customer service has hit an all time low, this is fact
As slow as my Pizza Delivery guy is might as well outsource that job to, maybe i can get it quicker!!
Have you read "The World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman? In this book, Friedman explains the recent historical events which has lead to globalization and points out that most jobs except service industry can be outsourced, or some aspects can. To remain competitive, we must sharpen our skills and the value we add.
Quite a few things actually. Outsourcing is not new - countries like US are outsourcing manufacturing from a long time - buy any product in US, and chances are, you will find a Made in China label on every second thing. The rule is - buy where it's cheapest from ,sell where you can get the maximum money from.
The current wave of outsourcing is focused on services, and hence attention due to the people factor. Procurement, HR is the next wave, but finally, it's all in the direction of global economy. Paperclip testing, though, will never find the right ROI to be outsourced ;)
SOLLY can you Lepit the quastion?
