Students are not generally in the first-responders category, but after the immediate danger has passed students can sometimes help with clean-up activities, food services for other volunteers, packing boxes with relief supplies, fund-raising, record-keeping, even construction help when properly supervised. Probably the easiest way to get started is to join a relief project being run by a church group.
ensure that all their school books and important papers are in a safe and secure place. keep indoors, and out of trouble. inform parents of what they learn about disaster management
I'm from Pakistan and everyone knows that two years back on 8th October a disastrous earthquake hit the Northern areas in our country... Our Govt. was not ready for such a big natural disaster and so the resources were not enough to meet with the requirement...

So all the students were called from every part of the country to volunteer themselves... and a large number of students turned out to help the effected...
In Northern ares of my country the weather is extremely hot and unfortunately it was winter season then... so a lot of work was required to save the people from cold... so the students worked well with the rescuers and made shelters that could protect from cold...

You can think about it further...
If students could be informed about disasters. they could be told to get together a bag of certain things you might need, and to talk this over with there family and make it a family project. When the actual disaster is over and there own family is OK, they could go to the church or town hall. and see what they could do to help. other that that the only thing for students to do is obey the rules and follow directions.
Students can be aware and spread awareness so that when the actual time for action comes they can be of help to the society they live in.
