I am not familiar with actual Masters in Project Management. An MBA is certainly more recognized and transferable into multiple jobs. But not all MBAs are the same either. An MBA is supposed to cover all of the areas of business: Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management and Information Systems. So it is very broad. As a result, it is not just simply a way of acquiring a set of skills, but a means for enriching your entire ability of being a manager. So the quality of the institution and the time you take to get the degree (top programs in the US are two-years) is critical.
Project Management is usually considered a subset of Operations Management with some Organizational Behavior.
